Red Tomato
Red Tomato
Everyone is in pursuit of a tomato, one way or another. — Peter Miller
Tomatoes are one of my favorite things!
In my 20s I was a bicycle messenger in Seattle. Tomatoes use to show up in my dreams in often random ways, but they were such a common occurance that “Tomato” became my messenger nickname. And one day while I was making deliveries I nearly ran over a perfectly ripe tomato along a busy city street. I picked it up, it had no blemishes, and it went into my salad that evening! This is tribute to one of my favorite things.
I love all the strong symbolism encased in these fragile orbs. They are associated with good luck, strength, passion, and a desire for a beautiful life. And, slangly, they are a nickname for a fine looking person.
